Botanical characteristics: It is an hybrid between Tilia cordata and Tilia platyphyllos. It is a large vigorous deciduous tree with upright trunk. It has a pyramidal compact crown with the main branches pointing upward and is characterized by smaller branches that firstly are yellow-brown and then red-brown. Leaves are heart-shaped, serrated, large 6 to 10 cm, glossy green above, greenish-yellow below and occur very early and fall also early in autumn. Flowering occurs in June and bears yellow flowers, clustered in 3-7. Fruits are rounded and ribbed.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It is suitable for all types of soil and tolerates compact ones. It highly resist urban pollution.
Use: It is used alone, in groups in parks and is ideal for city avenues.
