Botanical characteristics: It is a large deciduous tree with a rounded crown, whose superior branches point upward, while the lower ones point downward. Leaves are large, from oval- to heart-shaped, saw-toothed, silvery on the underside. In autumn they turn golden. In June-July, it blooms creamy and scented flowers.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It prefers deep, fresh and well-drained soil, including the clay soils. It is highly resistant to stress caused by urban pollution.
Use: In Italy it is the most widespread linden. In parks and large gardens it can be used singly, in groups and along tree-lined avenues.
