Origin: (horticultural).
Botanical characteristics: It is a deciduous shrub, having a medium size, growing rapidly. It is very thick with curved shoots. Leaves are elliptic to ovate, dark green above and lighter beneath. The summer flowering is not so showy and has small bell-shaped white-green flowers in short racemes. The blooming is followed by numerous very decorative berries, which are white, tinged with pink, shiny and grouped in clusters.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It adapts to any moist soil with full sun or half shade exposure. It tolerates poor soils and has an high resistance to pollution.
Use: It is cultivated for its ornamental berries. It is used in flower beds, borders and mixed hedges. It is excellent as groundcovers and suitable for urban green areas, road embankments and traffic islands.
