Origin: France.
Botanical characteristics: This deciduous shrub has a medium size, grows rapidly and is thick. It is much-branched with slender and falling branches. Leaves are obovate, toothed towards the apex, sometimes lobed, dark green on the upper surface and glaucous on the lower one. It has a beautiful and abundant flowering in April-May, flowers are small, white, grouped in dense corymbs, up to 5 cm wide.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils but can adapt to all types of land. It has an high resistance to drought, salinity, pollution.
Use: It is very ornamental for its flowering. It is used isolated or in groups, in border and in combination with other shrubs in parks and gardens. It is excellent in urban green areas and for road embankments, too.
