Origin: United States.
Botanical characteristics: It is a medium-sized tree. It grows rapidly and has conical crown with lower drooping branches. It has a grey and smooth bark. Leaves are elliptic, 7-15 cm long., deeply lobed. The lobes are pointed and incised, with tufts of armpit hair on the lower ribs, yellow when young then bright green, red in autumn.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It prefers moist but well-drained soil. It grows well also on moderately dry soils, but not on the compact ones. It has an high resistance to stagnant water and air pollution.
Use: It is used as isolated species or in groups in parks and large gardens or in urban green areas along the avenues. It can be used in wetlands and river.
