Botanical characteristics: It is one of the most beautiful flowering cherry trees with white bloom. It is a small deciduous tree, vigorous, with spreading crown. The elliptical, dark green leaves are up to 20 cm long, bronze when young, yellow and orange in autumn. In April it has a beautiful blooming of white flowers, which are 6 cm wide, cup-shaped and gathered in bunches of 4.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It adapts to moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soils, preferably chalky, sandy and alkaline. Full sun exposure is needed.
Use: It is used singly or in groups as ornamental plant in parks and gardens or in combination with groundcover in flowerbeds and mixed hedges. It is ideal for small gardens. It is widely used in urban greenery in avenues.
