Botanical characteristics: It is a small deciduous tree with pendulous branches. The leaves are elliptical to lanceolate, bright green, bronze when young. In April, it blooms spectacularly on the bare branches with double pink flowers, in groups of 4-6 flowers.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It adapts to moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soils, preferably chalky, sandy and alkaline. Full sun exposure is needed.
Use: It is used singly or in groups as ornamental plant in parks and gardens or in combination with groundcover in flowerbeds and mixed hedges. It is ideal for small gardens.
