Origin: France.
Botanical characteristics: It is a vigorous and upright cultivar that later becomes round. The leaves ranges from broadly elliptical to oval and more or less rounded at the tip, leathery and lighter green than Prunus laurocerasus.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It is present everywhere, since it tends to grow wild. It adapts to all types of soils but prefers the moderately moist, fertile ones, from slightly acid to alkaline. It dislikes calcareous and shallow-soils.
Use: It is mainly used in formal hedges.
