Botanical characteristics: It is a cultivar with dark purple-red leaves, nearly blackish, which are red when young. It has an abundant blooming of pink-red flowers.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It does not need particular soils, including dry ones. It has an high resistance to drought and air pollution.
Use: It is very decorative for the crown colouring and the abundant flowering. In parks and gardens, including the small one, it is used as ornamental plant in shrub form, in groups, in mixed hedge. It is interestingly used in urban green areas, especially along the avenues and in tight spaces.
