Origin: (horticultural).
Botanical characteristics: This cultivar is an hybrid between Populus deltoides and Populus nigra. It is a very fast-growing deciduous tree, whose growth habit ranges from conical to columnar. Its crenate leaves are pointed and the shape ranges from triangular to ovate; they are shiny and bright green but in autumn they turn yellow. It is a dioecious plant, having male and female inflorescences in catkins on different plants.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It prefers cool, deep and permeable soils but has no particular requirements. It resists water stagnation, saltiness and pollution.
Use: It is cultivated for wood and cellulose production. It works well as windbreak.
