Origin: New Zealand.

Botanical characteristics: It is a tufty perennial evergreen shrub, forming tufts composed of long, linear, green leaves that are stiff and leathery, 1-2 meters long. In summer it bears long erect panicles with bronze-red flowers, followed by black capsules.

Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It adapts to any type of soil, including the dry and sandy ones. It is resistant to the marine climate.

Use: It is ideal as seaside gardens ornament. It is used singly, in groups, in flowerbeds or borders. It is suitable for pots and planters in terraces near buildings and gardens in winter.
