Origin: South-eastern China.
Botanical characteristics: It is a brushy upright evergreen bamboo. Its fluted trunks are green when young and yellow at maturity. Its lower knots are asymmetric and swollen, they are often close and oblique. Leaves are strictly lanceolate and up to 15 cm long with hues from light green to golden.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It adapts to fertile, moist but well-drained soils. It requires full sun or partial shade exposure.
Use: It is used as ornamental plant for its growth habit, elegant foliage and the colour of its canes. It is used in groups to form thickets and shielding barriers. It is used in pot, too.
