Origin: Western China.
Botanical characteristics: It is a large evergreen shrub with erect, columnar and compact growth habit. The dark green leaves are shiny, oblong-lanceolate, up to 15 cm long, thick and stiff with deeply prickly and pointed margins. In autumn it bears cream-white, broadly tube-like flowers in clusters at the leaf’s axil, very fragrant.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It is able to adapt to any type of soil.
Use: It is used individually in parks and gardens or in group and in mixed hedges. It is ideal for pots and planters.
