Origin: Japan, China, Korea.

Botanical characteristics: It is a perennial evergreen herbaceous plant that grows slowly. It forms compact, glossy and dark green tufts. The leaves are linear, curved, leathery, 20-30 cm long. The summer blooming has bell-shaped white flowers that are barely visible.

Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It prefers moist but well drained and slightly acid soils. It has good resistance to drought and air pollution. It needs shade or partial sun exposure.

Use: It was traditionally used in historic gardens in the English manner. It is the ideal as groundcover at the bottom of evergreen trees, for borders of flowerbeds and shaded paths.
