Origin: Asia.
Botanical characteristics: It is a medium-sized evergreen shrub with erect branches that widen at the top. It has large compound leaves, whose lanceolate leaves are green in summer but turn red in spring and autumn. The summer-flowering has small star-shaped white flowers with yellow anthers, grouped in large panicles The clusters of red, shiny and globose fruits occur after the flowering and persist on the plant all winter long until the spring. It is very decorative.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It is suitable for any moist but well-drained soil and requires full sun exposure. It does not tolerate frost.
Use: It is very nice for its decorative blooming, crown colour and fruits. It is used individually or in groups, in bushy scrubs and in free hedges. It is ideal for pots and planters.
