Origin: Southern and Central Europe

Botanical characteristics: It is a deciduous shrub up to 4 mt high. Leaves are composed of 4-5 smaller elliptical-ovate leaves. Summer flowering consists of yellow flowers gathered in racemes up to 12 cm long. They are followed by inflated pods up to 8 cm long which are at first green and then translucent, .

Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It can be found throughout arid slopes and thickets and all well-drained soils in full sun. It tolerates poor soil and dry coastal climate. It tolerates urban pollution

Use: In gardens it is suitable for shrub borders. It is used to cover road embankments, for renovations and soil conservation.
