Botanical characteristics: It is a deciduous shrub with upright habit, up to 4 meters high. Its leaves are opposite, oval-lanceolate, rough on the upper side and smooth on the lower side. They are dark green, yellow in autumn, with smooth margins. In winter, fragrant bell-shaped flowers bloom on bare branches. They are yellow with a red-brown central spot.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: It is suitable to any well-drained soil in full sun. In cold climates it should be planted in a sheltered place.
Use: It is very appreciated for the intense fragrance of the flowers. It is used for its scent, as single plant or in mixed hedges.
