Origin: North East America.
Botanical characteristics: It is a medium-large deciduous shrub with and erect long branches. Leaves are oblong and white-tomentose. They are white and tomentose when young, green in summer and yellow-orange-red in autumn. It has white flowers in spring , gathered in clusters and followed by edible blue-blacks fruits.
Agronomic and environmental characteristics: They prefer moist well-drained not calcareous soils.
Use: It is cultivated in Europe as an ornamental plant, in gardens and both isolated and with other shrubs in flowerbeds or mixed hedges.
