The light green palmate leaves have 5-7 sharp lobes and in autumn they turn yellow, orange and red. The inflorescences are composed of small red flowers built in clusters. The Samaras, whose wings form an 180 degrees angle, are dangling in some cultivars. Many varieties of this specie were selected due to their different growth habits and colour of the leaves.
